Tea Party of Scottsdale, AZ
Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values: Personal Freedom, Economic Freedom and a Debt-Free Future

A Message from our TPS President

Greetings of the Season Fellow Patriots...

As 2013 rapidly draws to a close, and with another crucially important mid-term election--perhaps the most important mid-term election of our time--rapidly coming into focus in 2014, I'd like us all to remind ourselves of the mission, guidelines and goals of the TEA PARTY Movement.

We're all familiar with our central Core Principles, but

I'm repeating them here as a reminder and refresher, with the hope that it will keep us all inspired and active in the coming year.

Our Core Values

--Fiscal Responsibility: We honor and respect the freedom of the individual to spend monies that are the fruits of their own labors as they wish. The federal government was designed by our Founding Fathers to protect the Blessings of Liberty and to be fiscally responsible, without subjecting its citizenry to high levels of taxation that unjustly restrict the Liberty our Constitution was established to guarantee. Runaway deficit spending, the kind we have seen coming from Washington, D.C., compels us all to take action. The constantly increasing national debt is a grave threat to our national sovereignty and the personal and economic liberty of present and future generations.

--Constitutionally Limited Government: We, the members of Tea Party of Scottsdale, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be "the supreme law of the land." We believe that it is possible to know the "original intent" of the government set forth by our Founders and we stand firm in support of that intent. As our government is "of the people, by the people and for the people," we support "states' rights" not expressly stated in the Constitution. In all other matters, we support the personal Liberty of the individual, within the rule of law.

--Free Markets/Individual Liberty: A free market is the economic consequence of individual liberty. Our founders believed that personal and economic freedom are inextricably linked, as do we. The current government's interference distorts the free market and actually inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic freedom. Therefore we support a return to the free enterprise principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention and overreaching regulation into the operation of private business.

Our Operating Guidelines

1. Tea Party of Scottsdale (TPS) is part of the larger grassroots Tea Party Movement.

2. TPS is focused on the importance of education and seeks to expand public understanding of The Declaration Of Independence, The U.S. Constitution, The Bill Of Rights and free enterprise economics.

3. TPS will seek to conduct educational programs consistent with our mission and purpose, and will work with other organizations on advocacy projects when they are consistent with our mission and purpose.

4. TPS welcomes all who support our mission and purpose without regard to party affiliation. As a non-partisan education and good public policy advocacy organization, we put Principles over party and Core Values over candidates. We do not support or oppose political parties, we simply seek to hold them accountable to their oaths of office.

5. The focus of TPS is education and policy, not politics. When public officials supports the Constitution and the principles of limited government and liberty, they are worthy of our praise. If not, we will hold them to account.

6. TPS rejects the idea that we should throw all existing office-holders out of office. There are those in office and who serve the public well--and we should exchange information and ideas with them to help shape legislation and policy.

7. TPS encourages volunteers to choose an area of interest on one or more of our committees, and work with us in the fight to restore our Constitution and bring fiscal discipline and sanity back to our government.

With best wishes for a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year, I extend my kindest personal regards. Yours in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,

Bill Doyle, President

Thanks Bill,
We all need to be reminded, from time to time, to continue to fight for our principles because it is much easier to be complacent and wait for others to act.
