Chatting with the Tea Party

Rich_Orloff.jpgOn June 27 & 28, Theatre Artists Studio in Phoenix will present two free staged readings of my documentary-style play CHATTING WITH THE TEA PARTY.  You're cordially invited, and you're welcome to bring friends.

CHATTING WITH THE TEA PARTY was just named a finalist for the 2014 Woodward/Newman New Play Award.  The play is based on over 63 hours of interviews I conducted with leaders of Tea Party groups around the country - including the Phoenix area.  Over the past year the play has gotten great responses in a dozen readings in every region of the country, from people of all political stripes.

CHATTING WITH THE TEA PARTY is not a pro-Tea Party play.

CHATTING WITH THE TEA PARTY is not an anti-Tea Party play.

CHATTING WITH THE TEA PARTY is about one person's journey across America exploring the question, "Who arethese people?"

Nothing the interviewees say in the play has been made up.
